The Yankees seemed to hit their first patch of bad news this season on Monday as they found out prized prospect Gleyber Torres will need Tommy John that will keep him out of action for the rest of this season.

The good news here…Torres likely was going to spend the duration of the season in Triple-A and the Yanks were in no rush to bring him up.

The bad news here…this likely means, to the chagrin of many fans, Chase Headley will man the hot corner for the remainder of the year.

All-in-all, the Yankees will be in great shape with Torres for years to come as he will be ready to roar come Spring Training next season. Barring any major setbacks, expect to see Torres in the Bronx in 2018.
